PAK vs BAN: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Team for Match 31 of World Cup 2023

Pakistan and Bangladesh are two teams who are on the verge of elimination and would like to play for their pride as they have been under par in every department from batting, and bowling to fielding. Pakistan has an outside chance and Bangladesh has been eliminated realistically.

Bangladesh started the tournament as a team that might come close to qualification as their record in Bangladesh is very good and India also might suit Them but it was not the case as before the start of the tournament Shakib the captain got into a controversy with the senior member Tamim on his fitness and on the other hand Pakistan was also struggling with injuries with the likes of Naseem shah injured it was always a incomplete bowling line-up for them.

Still, the Pakistan team will look for the miracle and if it doesn’t happen they have a lot to introspect.

Team Preview

Pakistan

Pakistan has itself to blame for the chaos in the tournament as they are virtually out of the competition. The major reason for it is the lack of planning, they have scored under par and as a bowling unit, they have been horrible in both powerplay and middle overs.
Pakistan are lacking spin bowling and their batting has been very timid at the top especially Babar Azam the captain has been average in this WC with his SR vs spin dropping about to mid-60s. They will look to improve this if they have to do well in the remaining half.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a side that was a potential top 4 for some of the experts and they have underperformed by far the most in this tournament even the associate Dutch have done better. Shakib has underperformed so far in this WC and Mahmudullah has been outstanding as the two pillars of the team but many people don’t know that he wasn’t there in the actual plans for the WC. Bangladesh have got a tremendous pace lineup and they will look to play for their pride. Likes of Miraz and Das will look to make a difference as it is important for them to retain their places especially Liton who has got a lot of talent but is heavily inconsistent.

Probable Playing XI

Pakistan: Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf

Bangladesh: Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam

Pitch Report

Eden Gardens has produced a balanced pitch. The batters have scored good runs thanks to the ground’s short dimensions. In the same fashion fast bowlers can come into play a good role here as the new ball tends to have some movement. Similarly, spinners also love playing at Eden Gardens as the ball often finds a lot of turn and grip off the pitch when the game progresses. Under lights, the ball will swing and seam a lot.

  • Total matches played – 36
  • Matches won batting first by team – 21
  • Matches won bowling first by team 14
  • Average 1st Inns scores by team – 241
  • Average 2nd Inns scores by team – 201

Players To Watch Out For

Babar Azam: The no 1 batter in the world will look to score some more runs in the tournament with a better rate as we know that he has already got 3 50s in the tournament but he will look to play a big knock Tomorrow. Babar Azam in the Pakistani lineup is the key attraction for any Person.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz: Miraz can be deadly here with the ball as we saw how the Dutch spinners turned the match on his head bowling here at the Eden. There is some turn to offer if you bowl fuller and at a lesser speed. Mehidy with his all-round ability will try to make a difference as he has a lot of batting potential.

Shaheen Shah Afridi: Afridi has been one of the few positives for Pakistan in this WC even though he has failed to do his primary job of getting wickets at the top but still, he has done some wonderful damage control in the middle. He will look to target Liton Das’s front pad as he looks to play on the back foot more. Afridi with the new ball is a sight to watch. It will be exciting to see him in Eden.
