Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns with the Delhi Capitals in the third match of IPL 2023. Both teams will be eyeing a win in this game to kickstart their campaign in IPL 2023.
Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants has a decent squad like it was in the last season, in fact, the return of Mark Wood and additions of players like Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd and Daniel Sams have further strengthened the squad. Their batting looks settled with the likes of KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis being the main batters for Lucknow. Who bats at number 7 will be something to watch out for as a Lucknow fan.
Their bowling is looking good as well. Mark Wood, Avesh Khan and Jaydev Unadkat are expected to be the 3 pacers. Mohsin Khan’s injury is a big blow to them. The spin attack is in good shape as well with Ravi Bishnoi, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham and Amit Mishra being the spinners on the side. They have top all-rounders in Marcus Stoinis, Daniel Sams, and Romario Shepherd. Kyle Mayers and the others. Overall, they are looking good as a team.
The Delhi Capitals have a pretty good squad for this season. David Warner will lead in Rishabh Pant’s absence. They added the likes of Phil Salt, Rilee Rossouw and Ishant Sharma for this season. David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh and Rovman Powell form a very strong batting core for the Capitals. Lalit Yadav and Sarfaraz Khan are expected in the eleven and they must perform consistently.
The bowling looks settled as well with Anrich Nortje, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Lungi Ngidi being there. Some of the players will miss the first game but overall, the squad looks balanced with both batting and bowling.
This game will be played at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow. The pitch here is expected to be a little two-paced but overall it should be a decent one for batting. There will be some assistance for everyone – pacers will get some movement in the power play while the pitch will have something for the spinners as well. The average first innings score here in T20s is 150 runs. Chasing sides have won 50% of the games played here.
