AUS vs NZ: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Team for Match 27 of World Cup 2023

Australia and New Zealand two teams that were Potential Top 4 before the start of the CWC had started to get into the rhythm specially australia who lost first 2 matches are on a winning spree with 3 consecutive wins on the Trott and on the other hand Newzealand has won 4 out of 5 matches in the CWC.

Australia has got their combination right but they have to get one thing sorted i.e fitting in Travis head in the team as he has been the X Factor for them before the CWC, head won australia the WTC final on his own, Has a fantastic one day record this year. His return will make Aussies more Dangerous.

Newzealand will look to exploit the Dharamshala conditions as it is a day match. We might witness a 2015 like wc encounter this time. Boult from newzealand and starc from Australia.

Team Preview

Australia

Australia will start the match as a slight favourites because of their overall wc record and legacy plus they are back in the tournament meanwhile if you dig in new zealand’s campaign you will find out that after 1st match win vs England they have won vs Bangladesh, Afganistan and Netherlands all compartively weaker teams as per rankings and past record with no disrespect.

Steven Smith is back among the runs vs Netherlands as he made a 72 vs them and David Warner is back to his Original CWC form as he has currently got the 3rd position in most run getter list with two Centuries to his name. Mitchell starc will look to perform like he does in CWCS. Playing XI will be a matter to disscuss in the Aussie campaign.

New Zealand

Newzealand the Dark horses of the tournament are overall well equipped and placed in the tournament with 8 points under their belt. They will look to win atleast 2 matches from here to seal the spot as their run rate is very good. Daryl Mitchell and Conway will be two batters NZ will rely upon along with rachin ravindra a very talented all rounder.

NZ can look to play Southee here as we might see some swing movement here at Dharamshala. Mitchell santner is in amazing form this wc with him acting as a economical bowler in the middle and because of that other bowlers are getting the reward.

Probable Playing XI

Australia: David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa

New Zealand: Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (c) (wk), Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult

Pitch Report

Dharamshala is traditionally considered a good sporting pitch as it provides seam at the top with wicket getting better and better. The team who will post a 300+ total here will fancy there chances with the 2 new balls under lights. Boundaries here are generally medium/Small.

Spinners will not get much assistance from the surface if they will bowl at normal speed of 85-90 Kmph, early 80s and late 70s speed of bowling will be ideal to get some spin if a spinner wants here.

  • Total matches played – 8
  • Matches won batting 1st -3
  • Matches won bowling 1st -5
  • Average 1st Inns scores – 237
  • Average 2nd Inns scores – 209

Players to Watch out For

Trent Boult: Trent Boult will be the player to watch out for here because of the conditions and skills of boult at the top. He is probably the best swing bowler currently in first few overs with the white kookaburra. Boult has picked 9 wickets vs australia in the CWC and will be a major threat to them.

Glenn Maxwell: Glen Maxwell is the player who can turn the game on its head like he did vs Netherlands. Aus was in a bit of uncomfort when they got 260-5 after 40 overs vs Netherlands at the flat conditions of Delhi with small boundaries. A total of 330 was a possibility. Maxwell with his unrealistic 40 ball ton takes it to 400 and makes it impossible for the Dutch. It’s just a short example of the man.

Rachin Ravindra: Rachin Is a young sensation that has been on fire in this wc with 2 50s and a swashbuckling 100 vs the defending champions. Rachin is a player you wil call that tries to get on top of the bounce and play his shots. He is a brilliant talent and is a handy left arm spinner also. He will be the key for newzealand chances in this match as well the CWC.
