CAN vs IRE: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 13 of T20 World Cup 2024

In June 2021, ICC approved their future tours programme (FTP) for the years 2023-2031. The announcement of a new format with 20 teams assured fans that the World Cup in the shortest format won’t just be a big team affair.

A dozen games into the tournament and we’ve witnessed a 3rd highest run chase, 3rd ever Super over & PNG taking Windies’ 137 run chase till 19th and above all the Super Upset of the tournament USA defeating Pakistan in Super over, With 9 non-test playing nations and 28 games more to go another upset of the same level can be expected. Hence, fans should not keep their eyes away from any fixture irrespective of the on-paper strength of side. This brings us to the game no. 13, where Ireland faces Canada.

Ireland, who came into this tournament as a middle ranked team is placed in a critical group alongside Pakistan and India. They’re not expected to qualify for Super 8 but an expectation for taking the qualification scenarios of this group to the last game can be made. In order to do so, they must win their games against USA & Canada.

Canada on the other hand felt the wrath of the USA’s clinical batting at Dallas in what was the first game of the tournament.

With the other 2 games against India & Pakistan, this might be the last chance for Canada to come close to a victory in their t20 World Cup campaign.

Probable Playing XI

Ireland: Andrew Balbirinie, Paul Stirling(c), Lorcan Tucker(wk), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Benjamin White/Ross Adair, Barry McCarthy, Joshua Little, Mark Adair

Ireland can possibly add an extra batsman to their lineup in place of a bowler given the excessive bowling-friendly nature of the New York track.

Canada: Aaron Johnson, Navneet Dhaliwal, Pargat Singh, Nicholas Kirton, Shreyas Movva(wk), Dilpreet Singh, Dillon Heylinger, Saad Zafar(c), Nikhil Dutta, Kaleem Sana, Jeremy Gordon.

Pitch Report

The Nassau County New York track has been “the” topic of discussion at the tournament so far. India dismantled Ireland for a mere 96 while South Africa also didn’t let Sri Lanka cross 77. Ireland’s exciting pace attack can be the decisive factor of the game as 18 out of 26 wickets on this venue have been taken by the fast medium/fast bowlers.

Players To Watch Out For

Joshua Little

The 24-years-young left-arm pace sensation from Ireland has now raised a name that attracts expectations. Little holds a large capability to run through batting lineups in a matter of spell.

Rohit Sharma’s aggressive batting in the first game didn’t allow Little to get a hold of the pitch’s assistance in his spell but against a team like Canada, Little can lit things off like the likes of Nortje & Bumrah have done so far.

Paul Stirling

4th highest all-time run scorer in the format with an experience of 140+ games, captain Paul Stirling is struggling with a cold phase in his t20I career. With the highest score of just 36 and an average of 17 in 9 T20Is in 2024, Paul Stirling can do much more justice to his reputation as a t20 opener.

A player of his status must necessarily stand up for his country when the biggest stage arrives. A player of his status must definitely have something to showcase in this situation and can be expected to score big in the game.

USA vs PAK: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 11 of T20 World Cup 2024

As cricket moves to Texas, match no. 11 will take place between one of the best bowling units of this tournament. Pakistan will take on the co-host USA, which is coming with a winning momentum after thrashing Canada in a high-scoring encounter. Pakistan will look to start with a win before playing against the archrivals on 9 June.

Team Previews

Pakistan

Pakistan team, on paper, looks excellent, especially when you have the likes of Naseem, Shaheen, Amir, and Rauf in a single team with a smart bowler like Imad Wasim and T20 specialist Shadab Khan.

The problem for Pakistan will be the batting and leadership issues that they have been through before the tournament. Earlier, Shaheen Shah was leading the team after the World Cup 2023 as Babar Azam gave up captaincy in all three formats.

From then to now, it’s been a tough time for Pakistan as they drew a series at home against a second-string New Zealand side, got defeated against Ireland, and lost 2-0 in England. Rizwan and Babar will be key run accumulators for them.

USA

The United States of America, or simply the USA, is an associate nation that is currently an emerging cricketing nation. It is also the host of WT20 2024.

The USA qualified as the host nation and recently defeated a test-playing nation, Bangladesh, in a T20 series, a very surprising upset. Recently, the opener of the world T20 was also dominated by them; the USA has proved that you cannot take any opposition lightly in T20 cricket.

USA star batter Aaron Jones took the limelight in that match after scoring an explosive 94* off 40 balls with 10 sixes, along with his partnership with Gous. We all know that Corey Anderson, a former New Zealand white-ball specialist, also plays for this team. Anderson once held the record for the fastest ODI century, which was bettered by Ab de Villiers later. Captain Monk Patel and T20 league regular Ali Khan will also be the key for the USA.

Pitch Report

This match will take place at Texas’ Grand Prairie Stadium. Canada and the USA played a high-scoring game here, with the United States of America chasing 195 quite comfortably. Inconsistent bounce can trouble the batters, and we can expect the powerplay to help the seamers a bit.

Pacers are more likely to dominate here, whereas batsmen will look to target the shorter square boundaries. Using the pitch with cutters and slower ones outside off can be a good option if executed well.

Probable Playing XI

USA: Steven Taylor, Monak Patel (c) (wk), Andre Gous, Aaron Jones, Corey Anderson, Harmeet Singh, Nitish Kumar, S Van Schalkwyk, Ali Khan, Jasdeep Singh, Saurabh Netravalkar

Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saim Ayub, Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah.

Players To Watch Out For

Shaheen Shah Afridi: Shaheen Shah will be the key for Pakistan as he will start the proceedings with a new ball and will look to set up the tone at the top. His sharp, inswinging Yorkers should be looked after, and US batters will look to protect their front pad. In the procedure, the one with the angle can do the damage. Afridi will form a good pair with Naseem.

Aaron Jones: The USA hard hitter will be the best bet for them as he has scored the most runs after Surya Kumar Yadav in T20 cricket in the last 12 months, averaging around 50 with an SR of 150. His hitting vs. spin will be the critical factor in countering Shadab or any other spinner that comes in front of him.

Babar Azam: When we talk about Pakistan, we have to talk about Babar Azam, who has scored so many T20 runs in the last six months or so. Babar had a horrendous WT20 2022, and he will look to forget it and come here with a fresh mindset. Most likely, he will open the innings and look to accumulate runs, and other batters will look to play around him.

USA vs PAK Dream11 Team for Match 11 of T20 WC 2024

Wicket Keeper: Mohammad Rizwan (c)

Batters: Babar Azam, Aaron Jones, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub

All-Rounders: Shadab Khan, Steven Taylor

Bowlers: Shaheen Shah Afridi (vc), Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir

AUS vs OMN: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 10 of T20 World Cup 2024

Australia has won two of the last three World Cups across formats. Can they begin their World Cup campaign with an easy win, or will Oman put some resistance in Match 10 of the T20 World Cup 2024, which is being played in Barbados?

Team Previews

Australia

Australia won two of the last three World Cups, T20 World Cup 2021 and ODI World Cup 2023, and will be eyeing their third title of this decade under Mitchell Marsh’s captaincy. Most of the players from their squad are coming after playing the IPL, and that experience of playing in the biggest league will add a lot of value, but the players also need to adapt to the current pitches, which are very different from Indian pitches.

Oman

Oman was well in the game against Namibia until the end of the last over of the second innings. Mehran Khan conceded just four of the final six deliveries, and the match went into super over. But this time, Bilal Khan, their lead pacer, went for 21, and Namibia took the momentum. Man of the Match David Wiese gave just 10 runs and won it for Namibia. Oman will look to better their condition and present a good chance against Australia, but upsetting them might feel like climbing Mount Everest.

Probable Playing XI

Australia: Travis Head, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh (c), Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade (wk), Pat Cummins/Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Oman: Kashyap Prajapati, Naseem Khushi (wk), Aqib Ilyas (c), Zeeshan Maqsood, Khalid Kail, Ayaan Khan, Mohammad Nadeem, Mehran Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Kaleemullah, Bilal Khan

Pitch Report

The match would be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados

  • Total T20I Played- 26
  • Matches Won Batting First- 16
  • Matches Won Batting Second- 7
  • Average First Innings Score- 152

The pitch at Barbados is traditionally balanced, and an average first-innings score of 152 shows the same picture. The ground has already hosted two games in the current tournament, with Oman losing to Namibia in a super-over low-scoring thriller (109 runs each). The second game was washed out, but Scotland scored 90 runs against England in 10 overs without losing a wicket.

Players To Watch Out For

Travis Head

The man of big matches, Head was the player of the Match in the WTC Final 2023, the Semi-Final, and the Final of the Cricket World Cup 2023. He also had a great IPL season, scoring 567 runs and being the fourth-highest run scorer of the tournament. Head scored these runs while maintaining a Strike Rate of over 190.

Mehran Khan

The biggest positive from Oman’s first game of the tournament was Mehran Khan. He bowled the 18th and 20th overs, in which he gave just 8 runs (of which 5 were extras). Three runs in the final two overs and just 7 from the quota of 3 overs while taking 3 wickets is just phenomenal. Mehran Khan will be the most important aspect as Oman needs to stop Australia from achieving a big score or prevent them from chasing the desired total.

AUS vs OMN Dream11 Team for Match 10 of T20 WC 2024

Wicket Keeper: Mohammed Naseem Khushi

Batters: Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, David Warner

All-Rounders: Zeeshan Maqsood, Glenn Maxwell, Mehran Khan

Bowlers: Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood (c), Adam Zampa (vc)

PNG vs UGA: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 9 of T20 World Cup 2024

As we move to match no. 9 of WT20 2024, Uganda will take on Papua New Guinea at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Uganda is coming from a horror show in which they got bundled for just 58 against Afghanistan. PNG, on the other hand, is coming from a good match vs. the Windies. PNG and Uganda have met each other once in T20is, in which Uganda came over top by 4 runs. Uganda will look to fight back hard, and PNG will also look to climb up the points table.

Team Previews

Papua New Guinea

When they came into the tournament, PNG was seen as an underprepared or underconfident team, but when they played their first game against the Windies in Guyana, they surprised many out here as they brought the Windies close in the game.

As PNG made an average total batting first, people thought it would be a cakewalk for the West Indies, but things changed, and PNG dragged it till the 18th over, so much so that the required run rate reached over 12. Hopefully, they will display the same skill set again.

Captain Assad Vala will hope that his side takes positives from their last match and comes back hard for this encounter.

Uganda

Uganda, as expected, started the tournament as a comparatively weak side, but the expectations were that at least they would give some fight to Afghanistan. Instead, they suffered a big blow to their net run rate by getting 58 all out in the second innings, chasing a big total, and losing the game by 125 runs.

Brian Masaba and the team looked out of sorts in the game, failing in both the batting and bowling departments. Hopefully, they will give some fight, and in T20 cricket, we all know anything can happen, so they might also hope for a win. Fielding will be the key here, as both teams have average fielding units as per the international standards, but the one who converts half chances will be better placed.

Pitch Report

  • Total Matches – 31
  • Matches won batting first – 14
  • Matches won bowling first – 13
  • Average 1st innings Score – 126
  • Average 2nd innings Score – 98

The Providence pitch has a massive advantage for teams chasing. If a similar Wicket is made for the upcoming match, Accumulating runs will not be easy. The weather will be good throughout the game, with sunny conditions and fewer rain chances.

Probable Playing XI

Papua New Guinea: Lega Siaka, Assad Vala (c), Tony Ura, Sese Bau, Kiplin Doriga (wk), Charles Amini, Kabua Morea, Alei Nao, Hiri Hiri, Chad Soper, John Kariko

Uganda: Ronank Patel, Simon Ssezi (wk), Roger Mukusa, Riazkat Ali, Robinson Obuya, Alpesh Ramjani, Cosmos Kyewata, Brian Masaba (c), Dinesh Nakrani, Bilal Hassan, Henry Ssenyoda.

Players To Watch Out For

Sese Bau: Bau was the best performer with the bat for PNG. He has a good temperament for survival and scoring runs. Bau has scored nearly 1000 runs in T20is and has four T20I 50s.

Assad Vala: The most crucial figure in the history of PNG cricket, Assad Vala is one of the best local talents from Papua New Guinea. Skillful with the bat and handy with the ball, Assad Vala has 8 T20i 50s and 33 wickets.

Simon Ssesazi: Simon has been a stylish batter for Uganda cricket. Being a lefty in the team gives them a left and right combination at the top. He has also been a decent wicketkeeper for them. Ssesazi has scored the most runs for Uganda in T20 international history, averaging over 30 with 16 50s in T20is. As always, he will be the key to Uganda.

PNG vs UGA Dream11 Team for Match 9 of T20 WC 2024

Wicket Keepers: Kiplin Dorgia, Simon Ssesazi

Batters: Riazat Ali Shah, Lega Siaka, Tony Ura

All-Rounders: Assad Vala (c), Brian Masaba, Sese Bau (vc), Alpesh Ramjani, Dinesh Nakrani

IND vs IRE: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 8 of T20 World Cup 2024

Match 8 of the T20 World Cup will feature India and Ireland beginning their tournament at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. We will cover this match in detail, and a fantasy team will be provided at the end.

Team Previews

India

Shattering the hopes of over a billion cricket fans nationwide, Australia defeated India in their backyard and won the Cricket World Cup 2023. The same goes for England, who defeated India in the T20 World Cup 2022 Semifinals.

India won their last ICC trophy in 2013 (the Champions Trophy), and they have been waiting for it for the last 11 years. India aims to begin their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign by defeating Ireland and strengthening their spot for the Super 8.

Ireland

Ireland is surely the dark horse from Group A. India and Pakistan are the hot favourites, but diminishing Ireland’s calibre is no less than a sin. They have a balanced squad with a lot of experience. Captain Paul Stirling and their lead pacer, Joshua Little, are the most important players for them.

In the recently concluded series against Pakistan, Ireland won the 1st T20I and showed the world their capabilities. Although they lost the series, they won all three games against Scotland and the host Netherlands in the tri-series.

Probable Playing XI

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh/Mohammed Siraj

Ireland: Andy Balbirnie, Paul Stirling (c), Lorcan Tucker (wk), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little, Benjamin White

Pitch Report

The match would be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York

  • Total T20I Played- 1
  • Matches Won Batting First- 0
  • Matches Won Batting Second- 1
  • Average First Innings Score- 77

The clash between Sri Lanka and South Africa was the first-ever international game played on this ground. The ground offers a two-paced wicket, which makes it heaven for bowlers, especially pacers. Anrich Nortje along with his fellow bowlers ripped through the Sri Lankan batting lineup and bundled them for 77 runs.

Players To Watch Out For

Jasprit Bumrah

The star pacer from India can use the condition to its fullest, continue his IPL form, and take the game in India’s favour.

IPL 2024 was a high-scoring tournament (especially in the first half), and Yorker King conceded runs at an economy of just 6.48. He clinched 20 wickets in 13 matches and was the tournament’s third-highest wicket-taker.

Virat Kohli

Virat stands tall whenever the conditions are tough and protects India like a saviour. An anchor like him would be the most important batsman during India’s batting. He is also coming off a wonderful IPL season, where he was the highest run scorer. Virat smashed 741 runs in 15 matches of IPL 2024, averaging more than 60.

NED vs NEP: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 7 of T20 World Cup 2024

A battle between the only 2 associate nations of group D takes place on the 4th of June at the Grand Prairie Stadium with this being the best opportunity for both Netherlands and Nepal to register a win in the tournament.

Team Previews

Netherlands

A team that impressed everyone in the latest ODI WC despite finishing bottom of the table, the Dutch have been on a meteoric rise ever since 2022 despite the retirement of several stars preceding this period.

Gaining automatic qualification for the 2024 T20 World Cup through a 4th place finish in the group stage in the last edition, the Netherlands have played in only 2 more series since then, with both of them being tri-nation tournaments. Although they finished last in the latest one which included fellow European teams, Ireland and Scotland, Edward’s men aren’t the group of men to back down from challenges.

The squad has been weakened with the absence of Roelof Van Der Merwe and Colin Ackermann, both of them being unavailable due to county duties. Thus, the load increases on fellow all-rounders such as Logan Van Beek and Bas De Leede to provide utility in both departments.

Nepal

A team whose fans possess an inspiring amount of passion towards the game, the Nepalese National hasn’t been able to do full justice to this adulation, though they have returned to the T20 World Cup by defeating UAE in the Asian Qualifiers and will hope they do something to cheer for back home.

The year 2024 hasn’t been a welcoming one for them so far. Facing losses in each of the series they took part in, they faced consecutive losses to the non-participating side, Hong Kong, and were battered by fellow participants, Papua New Guinea, in one of the other games. On top of that, they will be missing the services of arguably their nation’s best cricketer, Sandeep Lamichanne, due to his US visa being denied. Like their opponents, they also carry an abundance of all-rounders with them, though their spin department might be rendered less effective on the grounds of the USA.

Probable Playing XI

Netherlands: Michael Levitt, Max O’Dowd, Vikramjit Singh, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Bas De Leede, Scott Edwards (c) (wk), Teja Nidamanuru, Logan Van Beek, Tim Pringle, Aryan Dutt, Paul Van Meekeran

Nepal: Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh (wk), Rohit Paudel (c), Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Sundeep Jora, Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Abinash Bohara

Pitch Report

This will be the 2nd match held in the Dallas stadium. Canada and USA played a high scoring match over here with the latter chasing 195. Invariable bounce will be an issue for the batters and expect the powerplay to be the most productive phase for the bowlers.

Pacers are more likely to dominate the spinners, whereas batsmen may make hay off the shorter square boundary.

Players To Watch Out For

Michael Levitt: Present as the travelling reserve in the 23’ CWC, Levitt has climbed through the ranks in just the 8 T20 internationals he has taken part in.

349 runs at an average of 43.63 with a scoring rate of 156.5, Levitt’s 135 of 62 balls is amongst the best 20-over innings played by a batter from the Netherlands. His battle against Karan KC might be the most important matchup of the game.

Dipendra Singh Airee: Gaining recognition throughout the World through his 6 sixes in the Asian Games, Airee has been a phenom with both bat and ball for the Asian side. 37 wickets @18.27, along with majorly batting at the top 5, where he has scored his runs at an average of 38.71; Airee’s range hitting will be massively beneficial in the Texas ground.

NED vs NEP Dream11 Team for Match 7 of T20 WC 2024

Wicket Keepers: Asif Sheikh, Scott Edwards

Batters: Rohit Kumar Paudel, Max O’Dowd, Michael Levitt,

All-Rounders: Bas de Leede (c), Logan van Beek, Dipendra Singh Airee (vc)

Bowlers: Paul Van Meekeran, Aryan Dutt, Sompal Kami

ENG vs SCO: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 6 of T20 World Cup 2024

We may not see Great Britain colonies against each other in the EUROS happening in June, but we can witness that in the T20 World Cup as England take on Scotland in Group B.

Group B has already witnessed a thriller where David Wiese became the Eagles’ hero.

Can England break their streak of losing to European teams in the World Cups, or will Scotland continue this trend?

Team Previews

England

England team has boosted their bowling attack by the comeback of two Caribbean quicks, Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan, alongside the pace of Mark Wood and Reece Topley.

Jos Buttler has also confirmed that Jonny Bairstow will bat at no.4 for England in the World Cup, making England’s batting consist of three wicketkeepers.

As always, Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali will be the spin duo, assisted by part-timers Will Jacks and Liam Livingstone.

Probable Playing XI

England: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (c) (wk), Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood

Scotland: George Munsey, Ollie Hairs, Brandon McMullen, Richard Berrington (c), Matthew Cross (wk), Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole, Brady Currie

Scotland

The 13th-ranked team in the world will face the world champions, England, in the opening encounter of the World Cup.

George Munsey will lead the batting attack, while Mark Watt will lead the bowling attack.

The recently concluded Tri Series was good practice for the team gearing up for the World Cup. The team has a good balance of young and experienced players.

Pitch Report

The Match will be played in Bridgetown, Barbados, which has a historically slow pitch that will greatly assist the spinners.

We have witnessed a low-scoring encounter going into the super over, with Oman, who scored 109 batting first and stopped Namibia at 109 while defending the target.

We can expect the same for this match, but the quality and experience of the English Batters could make a difference.

Players To Watch Out For

Jos Buttler: The English Captain needs no introduction to how destructive he can be. Though he had an on-and-off IPL season, he came back strong in the series against Pakistan, bagging Man of the Series for himself and a series Victory for England. Apart from his batting, his wicketkeeping and captaincy skills will also play an important role.

Mark Watt: The spinning sensation with his notes in his back pocket will be crucial for the Scots if they want to achieve something extraordinary in the World Cup.

ENG vs SCO Dream11 Team for Match 6 of T20 WC 2024

Wicket Keepers: Jos Buttler (c), Phil Salt

Batters: Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, Richie Berrington

All-Rounders: Michael Leask

AFG vs UGA: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 5 of T20 World Cup 2024

Match 5 of the T20 World Cup 2024 will see Uganda lock horns against Afghanistan at Providence Stadium, Guyana.

Uganda is playing in its first T20 World Cup tournament, and Afghanistan will try to register a win after failing to do so in the 2022 edition.

Team Previews

Afghanistan

In the last two T20 World Cup tournaments, Afghanistan has won just two matches against Scotland and Namibia. But in the ODI World Cup last year, the Afghans performed above their reputation and were on the verge of qualifying until Glenn Maxwell played the knock of his lifetime.

Afghanistan is surely the favourites in the game against Uganda. Their opener, Gurbaz, is coming after playing a match-winning role for KKR in the finals, and their spin bowling department is second to none. They also have a good all-rounder in Azmatullah Omarzai.

Uganda

Winning 41 games in the last 49 T20Is, Uganda is the in-form team with a win percentage of 83.67%. They defeated Rwanda in their final regional match and were the best African team alongside Namibia in the tournament. They are currently the least talked about side in their group but might surprise everyone by winning one game or two.

This team has some talent in the form of Riazat Ali Shah and Frank Nsubuga, who is currently 43 years old and the oldest player playing in the tournament. Also, Alpesh Rajmani came into the limelight after taking the most T20I wickets last year (55) and being nominated for the T20I Cricketer of the Year award.

Probable Playing XI

Afghanistan: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran, Gulbadin Naib, Azmatullah Omarzai, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Rashid Khan (c), Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Uganda: Simon Ssesazi, Roger Mukasa, Robinson Obuya, Dinesh Nakrani, Alpesh Ramjani, Kenneth Waiswa, Fred Achelam (wk), Cosmas Kyewuta, Henry Ssenyondo, Brian Masaba (c), Bilal Hassan

Pitch Report

The match would be played at Providence Stadium, Guyana

  • Total T20I Played- 14
  • Matches Won Batting First- 3
  • Matches Won Batting Second- 8
  • Average First Innings Score- 128

Providence Stadium provides one of the lowest-scoring pitches across the globe. The role of anchors becomes Vital at this ground as it supports fast bowlers, and spinners come into play as the game proceeds. The captain winning the toss should opt to field first.

Match 3 (West Indies vs Papua New Guinea) was played on this ground, and PNG scored a total of 137 runs. Despite having a strong batting attack, it wasn’t easy for West Indies to chase the target. They won on the last delivery of the 19th over, losing 5 wickets, and just one half-century was scored, that too by a PNG batsman (Sese Bau).

Players To Watch Out For

Rashid Khan

The spin wizard is seriously the best T20 player in this tournament. He is the best spinner, can score quick runs at the end, and is also one of the best fielders out there. Rashid will be the most important player for his team in the first match and the upcoming games of the tournament.

Riazat Ali Shah

Uganda defeated Zimbabwe in World Cup qualifiers, and Riazat Ali Shah was the star of the match. He performed with both bat and ball and was the player of the match in that game. Shah will look to continue his form and perform in a much bigger tournament starting from the match against Afghanistan.

AFG vs UGA Dream11 Team for Match 5 of T20 WC 2024

Wicket Keepers: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (vc)

Batters: Ibrahim Zardan, Roger Mukasa, Gulbadin Naib

All-Rounders: Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Dinesh Nakrani, Riazat Ali Shah

SL vs SA: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 4 of T20 World Cup 2024

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is ready. It took just 3 months but $30 Million for the now World Class stadium to be T20 World Cup ready.

First match here, and it’s South Africa taking on Sri Lanka. In an international tournament, a team can expect 3 kinds of starters:

  1. an absolutely easy game that can feel like a warmup
  2. a rivalry game
  3. a confusing, tough game with probably nothing to gain but everything to lose.

One of these teams is a very successful side, having played 3 T20 WC finals and winning one, while the other has only made it to 2 Semifinals in 8 tournaments.

Despite being the later, going into this match, Proteas will find themselves in #3 scenario. But what about Lankans? A historic force in this tournament finds themselves nowhere in expectations. The game is expected to be heavily dominated by the Green & Golds, or maybe the big-mouth Protea fan should respect the highly talented Lankan pace attack and their newly appointed captain, all-rounder Wanidu Hasranga.

Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh in Bangladesh in a close contest series in March, while South Africa’s full-strength team is yet to win a T20 series since the last World Cup.

Probable Playing XI

South Africa: Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram(c), Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Gerald Coetzee, Kagiso Rabada, Ottniel Baartman.

Sri Lanka: Kamindu Mendis, Kusal Mendis (wk), Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, Wanidu Hasranga(c), Maheesh Theekshana, Dilshan Madushanka, Matheesha Pathirana, Nuwan Thushara.

Pitch Report

The Nassau County surface hosted India v/s Bangladesh warmup match proving to be an uneven bounce surface with good help for fast bowlers.

The surface being new and dropped in under the supervision of Adelaide Oval’s pitch curator, Damian Hough, tells a lot about what can be expected. With pace and bounce being obvious features, the ground’s shortest boundary lies at 60m and longest at 82, making it of a size similar to Wankhede, Mumbai.

The game can be an above-average scoring match, with 180 being a winning total and fast bowlers playing a crucial role.

Players To Watch Out For

Tristan Stubbs

The young, explosive rare commodity in the face of a finisher has now established himself in the international white-ball lineup. And it is not just about establishing Tristan Stubbs as the 2nd most anticipated player from South Africa for the World Cup, the first obviously being Klaasen, who is the best batsman in the world in this format.

After making his debut in July 2022, Stubbs had a breakout SA20 and then IPL within the first five months of 2024. Stubbs has had enough performances to make fans believe that he can lit up the stage in the USA and Caribbean this summer. If the obvious comes true, Stubbs’s journey for an all-timer campaign should start on Monday itself.

Ottniel Baartman

South Africa is expected to do well in this T20 World Cup, but they are not the clear favourites. The reason being their flawed bowling which has had problems in the death. The bridge between “doing well” & “coming out as champions” will require a 5’10 strongly built Baartman to do what he did with Eastern Capes.

The pacer has all the armour in his artillery to gun down even the best batters in the world. New York’s uneven bounce track and an opponent side from the subcontinent provide Ottniel with a chance to perfect his start to the tournament.

NAM vs OMAN: Match Preview, Pitch Report and Dream 11 Prediction for Match 3 of T20 World Cup 2024

Similar to Day 1, the second day of T20 World Cup 2024 will also feature 2 games

  • Match 3: Namibia vs Oman
  • Match 4: Sri Lanka vs South Africa

Here, we will discuss Match 3 between Namibia and Oman in detail, and a fantasy team will be provided at the end. In the recently concluded T20I series between these two nations, Namibia won by a margin of 3-2.

Team Previews

Namibia

After their Super 12 appearance in T20 World Cup 2021, Namibia will be playing only their second T20 World Cup. Namibia defeating Sri Lanka in the qualifiers was a highlight of the T20 World Cup 2022, but it failed to advance to the further stages of the tournament. Gerhard Erasmus’ lead side will look to make an impact, starting with a win against Oman.

Oman

After their omission in the previous tournament, Oman will be making a comeback in the T20 World Cup. Their captain will be their most important player along with bowler Bilal Khan. Oman was leading 2-1 in the series against Namibia played in April, but Namibia made a comeback and won the next two games to clinch the series.

Probable Playing XI

Namibia: JP Kotze, Malan Kruger, Jan Frylick, Gerhard Erasmus (c), David Wiese, Zane Green (wk), Dylan Leicher, Ruben Trumpelmann, Bernard Scholtz, Jack Brassell, Tangeni Lungameni

Oman: Kashyap Prajapati, Naseem Khushi (wk), Aqib Ilyas (c), Zeeshan Maqsood, Aayan Khan, Rafiullah, Mohammad Nadeem, Mehran Khan, Fayyaz Butt, Samay Shrivastava, Bilal Khan

Pitch Report

The match would be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados

  • Total T20I Played- 23
  • Matches Won Batting First- 16
  • Matches Won Batting Second- 7
  • Average First Innings Score- 159

The pitch at Kensington Oval provides opportunities for both batsmen and bowlers, making it a balanced pitch. There is good bounce for the batsmen, helping them to play good shots, and there is also an adequate amount of help for the spinners as the game progresses. As the stats say, the team batting first has a higher chance of winning at this ground.

Players To Watch Out For

David Wiese

Looking at his experience and the value he holds in the team, Wiese will be the most important player for Namibia in the game. His role as a middle-order batsman (mostly as a finisher) and his role as a bowler will also be vital. In the last 12 months, Wiese has scored 120 runs, averaging 40 in 11 games. He also has 13 scalps in this period

Aqib Ilyas

With an average of just 13.08, captain Aqib Ilyas has sent 35 batsmen back to the pavilion in T20I in the previous 1 year. Additionally, in batting, he has scored 675 runs in this period with a Strike Rate of 135.

Aqib is the highest wicket-taker and the best batsman for Oman in the last 12 months, and if this team is looking to put up some challenge against Namibia, their captain has to stand tall and perform according to his reputation.
